POSITION SUMMARY: Provide direct client services for sexual assault/domestic violence victims, including trauma-informed care, advocacy, intake and referral. Advocate provides free, confidential support for victims of sexual assault, domestic abuse, sex trafficking and stalking. Accompany victims to law enforcement interviews or at hospitals in Kenosha County during exams. Duties include assessment of needs, intake, crisis intervention, safety planning, emotional support, information and referral and other survivor-centered responses. Services may be provided in-person or over the phone. Position shares in the on-call responsibilities after hours and on weekends. May also be responsible for prevention presentations, primarily at local schools and colleges.

WORK HOURS: 25 hours/week - Office hours are generally 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. A regular weekly schedule would be created upon hire to ensure coverage and accommodate candidates availability. Also shares in on-call rotation afterhours and on weekends and holidays.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Associates degree in human services or related field, plus 2 years professional experience in a social services or crisis agency. Knowledge of services available in and around Kenosha County preferred. The advocate will be trained to provide crisis intervention, intake processes, information and referral, grounding techniques, and other survivor-centered responses.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent communication and organizational skills; cultural competence and ability to interact with various publics; excellent interpersonal skills; must demonstrate professionalism with sound judgment and a high degree of responsibility, particularly as it relates to confidentiality. Reliable automobile with insurance and valid driver’s license required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.50 per hour
