Job Description:

Worcester Community Action Council has contracts with the Department of Energy (DOE) and the major local utility companies to install energy conservation measures in low-income homes throughout Central and Southern Worcester County. Each home receives an in-depth inspection by a certified energy auditor to assess conservation needs and the safety and efficiency of the primary heating system. Areas needing improvement are rectified if the home and the occupant meet the criteria of one or more programs outlined below.

The Energy Department Finance Analyst will reconcile program activity and amounts paid through the Energy Department and the Emergency Fuel Fund.

This position requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to make decisions and recommendations independently.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance required
• 3-5 years’ experience in accounts payable or similar capacity required
• Ability to learn program rules and regulations and apply written and verbal instructions.
• Excellent organizational and computation skills.
• Ability and willingness to work cooperatively and collegially with a diverse team who carry varying levels of responsibility in the agency.
• Ability to speak a second language, preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis required.
• Excellent writing and correspondence skills.
• Proficiency in computer programs used at the agency and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.

Other Requirements:

• Must pass Accurate Background check including CORI and drug screening
• This position can be done remotely with regular in-person check-in.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Exhibit a high level of professionalism at all times.
• Review weekly, semi-monthly and monthly invoices prepared by department staff and reconcile with actual fiscal payments
• Confirm accuracy of jobs and measures that have been “paid and not reported”.
• Review and reconcile the payments in the Emergency Donated Fuel Funds and ensure accurate tracking of fund balances.
• Prepare accurate, professional reports regularly to program director, finance department and others as requested.
• Other duties may be assigned by the Executive Director.
