Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to lead technology policy initiatives in the Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP). The incumbent must be a trusted advisor in both accessibility and technology spaces, with a demonstrated ability to act as a bridge between the people building the technology and the end users.
Responsibilities
- Support ODEP to create inclusive technology policies and practices that make workplaces accessible for people with disabilities.
- Consult and advise on robust policies and practices to build disability inclusion and accessibility into current and emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital accessibility, broadband access, digital equity, technology for hybrid work, accessible transportation, emerging technology, and other areas.
- Advance inclusive technology development, design, and adoption across a range of employers and workplaces.
- Support ODEP's Partnerships on Employment and Accessible Technology (PEAT) initiative and website.
- Host Think Tank or listening session events to gather input on inclusive emerging technology policies.
- Conduct educational events and conference presentations to encourage adoption of inclusive technology policies and practices.
- Develop issue briefs and other products and resources to disseminate promising practices around the adoption of inclusive workplace emerging technology practices.
- Provide technical assistance to relevant stakeholders on accessible workplace technology.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science, web development, technology and information management, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of experience designing and contributing to accessible technology development
- At least 3-5 years in the areas of AI, digital accessibility, and other emerging technology issues.
- Specific experience working with disability groups.
- Specific experience creating and influencing policies and practices to promote employment of people with disabilities.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $100,000.00 - $123,801.00 per year
