Description

The Director of Training will work side by side with the Chief Pilot to support training, auditing, 

and record keeping. Moreover, the Training Instructor will be involved in the company’s SMS, IAP, FOQA, and ASAP programs. This is primarily an office position at the Principal Base of Operations. There is no requirement for the CTI to maintain a medical certificate or flying currency.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Will be accountable to the Chief Pilot and will maintain the highest levels of quality, security, and safety

· Will maintain a training library in the Phoenix HQ, in accordance with the Company Training Program

· Will serve as a Company Ground Instructor, conduct Ground Training for pilots and other company employees on all authorized subjects, as required, and will provide timely records of training to the Chief Pilot

· Will develop training materials and syllabi to ensure all flight crew members receive the proper 

regulatory and Company training, including evaluation and testing

· Establishes, builds and work with FAA and CAE to develop a standardized training curriculum

· Establishes and maintains metrics for the success and quality of Ground and sim instructors and check pilots.

· Will be primarily responsible for New Hire, Recurrent, Transition, Requalification, or Upgrade training for Pilots. Will track progress and verify proper documentation of training forms or SOE checklists as needed

· May assist with the Safety Department and be assigned to close out SMS reports by evaluating risk and finding mitigating solutions with the assistance of the Chief Pilot, Check Pilots, and Senior Captains

· Will participate in the Internal Audit Program and be tasked with completing periodic audits as 

assigned by the Safety Manager

· May participate in evaluating FOQA-related events or reports as needed; May be assigned any tasks by the Company suitable to the role

QUALIFICATIONS/SELECTION:

· Be qualified through training, experience, and expertise to the extent of their responsibilities, and have a full understanding of the following material with respect to the certificate holder's operation:

o WJC FAA Approved Training Program

o WJC Company Training Program

o WJC SMS and safe operating practices

o 14 CFR Chapter I (Federal Aviation Regulations)

o WJC's General Operations Manual and Operations Specifications

o Company Manuals, Company procedures, and SOPs

o Company aircraft, etc
