DPV Transportation Worldwide is Hiring a Fleet and Maintenance Manager Near Everett, MA

Job Summary:
The Fleet Maintenance Manager oversees and maintains an effective fleet maintenance program that prolongs the life of equipment, ensures safe operation of all equipment and completes repairs in a timely manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Direct reports: 10 employees
  • Reports: Mechanics, cleaners, support clerks
  • Oversee maintenance on vehicles and buildings
  • Evaluating and driving departments operational performances
  • Ensure federal, State and company standards are maintained during all processes for legal compliance
Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
This position manages the following functional areas;
  • Report to direct supervisor on operational progress
  • Ensure compliance and best practices
  • Coordinate, schedule, and audit vehicle maintenance repairs to include preventative, mechanical and electrical repair to tractors, trucks and trailers.
  • Prioritize and assign work to meet customers' needs
  • Ensure quality, compliance, and safety of company's assets
  • Control repair, inventory, and labor costs
  • Coach and mentor mechanics
  • Manage facilities, assuring a clean and safe working environment
  • Ensure repairs and cleaning practices are done timely and correctly
Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Experience as a bus mechanic
  • Must have a valid CDL and clean driving record
  • Working knowledge of federal and state safety laws
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask
  • Must be able to travel to remote locations on a regular basis and as needed on an emergency basis. On call for revolving weekend/night duty to respond to any type of emergency. Requires night shift work and early morning work on a regular basis to observe, monitor and coach employees and supervisors.
  • Be always available by phone in case of emergencies
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Can hold others accountable.
  • Thorough knowledge of Transportation and mechanic Industry
  • Believes and displays DPV core values
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education, Experience and Physical Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of maintenance experience.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to drive a bus
