Job Title: Wound Care Technician / Medical Assistant / Nurse Aide
Summary:
The Wound Care Technician plays a pivotal role as the right hand of the healthcare provider during mobile patient visits, providing specialized wound care and supporting various clinical and administrative tasks. This position requires a blend of clinical expertise, compassionate patient care, and efficient communication to maintain positive relationships with patients and referral partners. While wound care/patient care experience is preferred, we do offer on the job training.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care:
- Wound Management: Expertly performs wound assessments, cleanses wounds, and applies appropriate dressings in collaboration with the healthcare provider during mobile patient visits.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Records and monitors vital signs, ensuring real-time reporting to the healthcare team to facilitate prompt decision-making.
- Procedure Assistance: Assists healthcare providers during mobile clinical procedures, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.
- Patient Education: Actively engages in educating patients and their families on wound care protocols, post-treatment care, and preventive measures.
Administrative Duties:
- Referral Management: Follows up on patient referrals, coordinating with referral partners, and ensuring a smooth transition of care.
- Documentation: Maintains accurate and timely documentation, including basic charting, faxing, and electronic health records (EHR) updates, reflecting the mobile patient care provided.
- Patient and Partner Communication: Establishes and nurtures positive relationships with patients and referral partners, addressing inquiries, providing information, and ensuring overall satisfaction.
- Scheduling and Coordination: Assists in scheduling mobile visits, coordinating with patients and referral partners, and optimizing the provider's itinerary for maximum efficiency.
Qualifications:
- CMA, CNA, LVN, or similar certification.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office functions; general understanding/experience with current Electronic Medical Record (EMR) platforms.
- Physical Demands: Requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting, and pulling.
