The Benefits Analyst will be responsible for managing and analyzing the company's employee total reward programs. This role involves ensuring that our benefits are competitive, cost-effective, and compliant with regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of benefits administration, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees and leadership. This salary role will report to the Director of Human Resources.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Administer employee benefit programs including health, ancillary, retirement, wellness, leave, pay, and other plans.
- Create and maintain policy and program documentation of all employee-related benefit plans.
- Analyze and evaluate existing benefits to ensure they are cost-effective and aligned with industry standards.
- Conduct regular audits of benefit compliance changes, enrollments, participation, and resolve discrepancies.
- Serve as a primary point of contact to HR Representatives for benefit inquiries, guidance, and education.
- Collaborate with HR and leadership to develop and implement new benefit initiatives.
- Prepare and present reports on benefit utilization, costs, and trends to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including ACA, ERISA, FMLA, and COBRA.
- Lead and coordinate benefit open enrollment and other benefit-related projects.
- Manage the day-to-day relationships with benefit providers and brokers.
- Utilize the HR Information System (HRIS) to administer benefits and streamline the employee user experience.
- Learn trends and best practices to ensure company benefits remain competitive and aligned with employee needs.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in a HRIS and benefits management software.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to employee benefits.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation is a plus.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in benefits administration or a similar role.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS
- Work out of the WSI home office location.
- Minimal travel required.
- Ability to sit for extended periods within an office environment.
- Ability to use hands and fingers for computer keyboarding, and answer phone calls.
- Ability to communicate via the telephone using speaking and hearing skills.
COMPENSATION
$65k - $70k Annually
