Job description
Job Summary
Responsible for the design & development of moderately complex vehicle electrical/electronic systems that meet cost & performance targets such as power distribution, circuit protection, grounding & bonding, lighting, audio, data transmission and control systems. Work with engineers, customers, BD and PM to help define requirements and translate them into working engineering specifications. Analyze/troubleshoot designs. Produce engineering drawings and perform design verification tests. Experienced in the application of the NextGen Armor Development Process.
Duties
- Responsible for electrical/electronic subsystems designs from concept to release for production.
- Develop and manage product development plans that meet deliverable requirements and program milestones, as well as develop containment plans.
- Coordinate the development and release of new products/engineering changes with all stakeholders.
- Support the organization in evaluation and continuous improvement of existing products.
- Provide technical direction, serve as a technical point of contact, and prepare management & customer briefings/reports, and assists in problem resolution specific to the assigned products.
- Provide technical support for bids and proposals.
- May oversee the work of draftsmen & technicians.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Associates degree in Electronics Technology required.
- IPC 620 certification required, IPC 610 certification preferred
- PCB design experience preferred, Altium Designer CAD experience preferred
- Electrical schematics, wiring cable & harness design, & power distribution design experience required.
- Minimum 5 years product design & development experience in a manufacturing environment (low-medium volume production) required.
- Ground vehicle electrical/electronic & LED lighting systems design experience required
- Knowledge of soldering, PCB assembly & cable/harness assembly processes required.
- Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFM/A) experience required.
- Experience specifying, conducting & overseeing tests and interpreting & reporting test results required.
- Demonstration of a wide degree of creativity and latitude required.
- Must be "hands-on", able to lead product development for assigned systems & perform efficiently under tight

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
