Quality Control Inspector-Team Lead
Classification: Hourly non exempt
Reports to: Director of Engineering & Manufacturing Technologies
Xceldyne is the global leader in motorsports valve and valvetrain component manufacturing in the world! The Xceldyne engineering and manufacturing facility is focused on high-precision titanium, steel, and aluminum performance parts from Formula One, NASCAR, and other top line engines.
Position Summary: Primary objective is to ensure product compliance in accordance with established quality standards.
Quality Control Inspector Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the daily department output by visually inspecting and approving precision metal components, products, and devices.
- Inspect in-process production items by confirming specifications, conducting visual tests and measurement tests, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
- Clock in and out of jobs on industry ERP to track progress by item regarding approved and scrapped pieces.
- Use measurement equipment, follow operating instructions and calibration requirements.
- Efficiently apply GD&T concepts for approval of the product.
- Willing to become knowledgeable about products and customer expectations.
- Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Proficient in visual inspection with the ability to follow specifications and standards
- Highly skilled in use of measuring devices: CMM, gauges, micrometers, and calipers
- Blueprint reading capabilities
- Validate first article inspection
- High attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communicator
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Mathematical skills for calibration and measurement specifications
- Computer skills (word processing, spreadsheet, etc.)
- Documentation and reporting competence
- Hand/eye coordination
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Capable of training and assisting other operators with their duties
- Use of CMM Program Calypso a plus
Physical Requirements:
· Visual assessment for long periods of time
· Standing for long periods of time
· Ability to walk and move about, stoop, kneel, bend and crouch occasionally
· Some reaching and grabbing with hands
· Able to bend from the waist to load parts and equipment without strain
· High level of noise in some areas
