Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior FP&A Analyst to join our finance team at a high-growth, pre-IPO medical device technology company. The Senior FP&A Analyst will support financial planning, forecasting, and analysis efforts to help the company scale effectively. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the medical device industry, assist in financial decision-making, and work closely with senior leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning & Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, working closely with business unit leaders to gather inputs and ensure accuracy.
- Help build and maintain financial models, including revenue forecasts, P&L statements, and cash flow projections.
- Track key performance metrics and ensure that forecasts are updated to reflect actual results and trends.
- Financial Analysis & Reporting:
- Conduct variance analysis on monthly, quarterly, and annual performance, comparing actuals against the budget and forecast.
- Prepare regular financial reports and dashboards to provide insights into business performance for senior leadership, investors, and the board.
- Assist in creating financial presentations for investor meetings and board discussions.
- IPO Preparation & Financial Systems:
- Support IPO readiness efforts, including assisting with financial controls, processes, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in alignment with SEC regulations and assist in preparing S-1 filings.
- Business Partnering:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, Sales, Operations) to gather financial data, understand business drivers, and provide financial insights.
- Support ad-hoc financial analysis projects and provide insights into cost structures, pricing strategies, and operational efficiencies.
- Data Management & Process Improvement:
- Help maintain financial systems and ensure data integrity within financial models and tools. Prior use of FP&A software is a plus.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance financial reporting, and increase the efficiency of the FP&A function.
- Ad-hoc Financial Projects:
- Support the FP&A team on special projects, including fundraising, acquisitions, new product launches, and expansion into new markets.
- Assist in scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to evaluate different financial and business outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 2-4 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or related finance roles.
- Experience in the medical device, healthcare, or high-growth tech industry is a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Excel, with experience in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Experience with NetSuite and other financial reporting tools.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and financial planning software is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience in a pre-IPO environment or exposure to IPO-related processes is advantageous.
- Understanding of GAAP and basic SEC reporting requirements is a plus.
