What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Specialist position at Xiente?
Primary Responsibilities/ Tasks:
1. Technology Management: Manage, install, and ensure the functionality of information technology systems
and equipment, including Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and ChildPlus. Oversee hardware, software, and network
installations, particularly within the Unify (Ubiquiti) ecosystem.
2. Policy Maintenance: Ensure compliance with industry best practices and standardized IT policies and
procedures, prioritizing network security and confidentiality of organizational data.
3. Solution Development: Develop, test, and implement innovative IT solutions and systems, ensuring scalability
and alignment with business needs. Stay updated on emerging technological trends, issues, and solutions.
4. Audit and Control: Conduct annual IT audits and periodic assessments of system controls to ensure data
integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
5. Project Coordination: Coordinate IT project activities with internal departments and external vendors,
ensuring timely, budget-conscious, and effective execution of all deliverables.
6. User Support and Training: Provide prompt and effective IT support to staff, diagnosing and resolving system
and network issues. Lead training sessions and create documentation to enhance staff proficiency with
organizational technology platforms.
7. Administrative Support: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of hardware, software licenses, and
ensure licensing compliance. Provide after-hours IT support on an as-needed basis for critical system issues.
8. Hardware Management: Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and servers to ensure optimal
performance. Manage office technology equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, and cameras.
9. Network Maintenance and Security: Support and maintain the organization’s Unify (Ubiquiti) network,
including cable management, router/switch installation, and camera setup. Ensure network infrastructure
reliability, performance, and security through regular monitoring and updates.
10. Emerging Technology & Implementation: Provide guidance and support to staff in the adoption and
implementation of new software, hardware, and emerging technologies as needed. Research and recommend
tools that align with organizational goals to enhance productivity and efficiency.
11. Vendor Liaison: Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors on IT projects, ensuring cost-
effective technology purchases, timely maintenance, and adherence to service agreements.
12. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on system performance and network security, including an
annual review for senior management. Analyze system usage and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in IT operations or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Salesforce, ChildPlus, and Unify (Ubiquiti) network management.
- Experience with hardware installations (cameras, routers, switches) and network cabling.
- Knowledge of Active Directory (Microsoft Intune), user account creation, file/group level security, and system permission.
- Familiarity with network implementation and maintenance including routers, switches, firewalls, and network drives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer service focus.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues, manage multiple tasks, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to secure clearance for PA Child Abuse, PA Criminal History, FBI, and National Sex Offenders Clearance (required).
- Ability to maintain end-user knowledge of current and emerging technological trends, issues, and solutions.
- Driver’s license and ability to travel to different office locations as needed.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish (preferred but not required).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
