What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Professional position at Xiente?
The Security Professional provides security for our teens, visitors, and staff, making our program a safe environment. This position will be assigned to our Youth/Teen Center, which will operate during the evening hours. The ideal candidate should be able to secure the premises, patrol the property and monitor surveillance equipment. This position works closely with both our Youth & Family Team and our Youth Center.
1. Secure premises, visitors, teens, and staff by patrolling property regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
2. Monitor surveillance equipment periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts, monitoring access points.
3. Prepare daily reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, visitors, and surveillance activities.
4. Investigate security breaches, incidents, and non-compliance behavior (hereinafter referred as “Incidents”). For each Incident, the Security Professional should:
a. Make a formal investigation.
b. Prepare an Incident Report, including the result of his/her investigation, and detailing all the information, interviews, and documents, if any, related to the event.
c. Prepare an assessment identifying which was the security breach, the lack of control or the failure in the forecast of the risks that contributed to the incident.
d. Prepare a recommendation to mitigate or reduce similar incidents in the future.
5. Assist program driver with transportation as needed.
6. Complete hourly/daily logs.
7. Being visible in the premises. Patrolling premises
8. Removes wrongdoers or trespassers from the area.
9. Provide assistance and aid to people in need; and/or contact the authorities / emergency services as soon as possible.
10. Secure all exits, doors, and windows after end of operations.
11. Be a team player with a positive attitude and ability to provide conflict resolution skills.
12. Act as a positive role model for employees, trainees, and clients in all aspects of professional performance.
13. Maintains a high degree of confidentiality, accuracy, and a professional work environment.
14. Attends meetings, training sessions and committee/team activities as required.
15. Follow all NSCA policies and safety procedures.
16. Regular attendance is required.
17. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred. Two years of experience in similar positions preferred. Experience working in diverse workplaces, with minorities and non-English speakers. Experience may be substituted for education.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English and Spanish.
- Effective at working with individuals from multiple social backgrounds.
- Available to work flexible schedules that include nights, weekends, and occasional long hours.
- Self-starter with excellent anticipation skills, follow up, dependability, and sense of urgency about getting results.
- Ability to write reports.
- Good interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Current PA state Criminal Clearance, DHS Child Abuse History Clearance, FBI Fingerprints, Health Assessment with Mantoux TB Shot, National Sex Offenders Registration Clearance
- Ability to engage in prolonged sitting, standing and/or walking.
- Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to unexpected events, prioritize, and multitask.
- Ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
