Job Profile

The Director of Training reports to the Director of Operations and fulfills the requirements of a Director of Training as outlined in the General Training Manual.

Your Responsibilities

• Serves as a member of the Safety Committee and promotes Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Allocates resources to sustain risk management activities
  • Identifies and evaluates safety hazards
  • Takes action to eliminate hazards or reducing risk to an acceptable level
  • Investigates accidents and serious incidents
  • Adopts appropriate best industry practices
  • Promotes aviation safety including the exchange of safety related information
• Identifies and develops training curriculum needs
• Acts as the supervising editor for the GTM
• Manages all revision controls and distribution for the GTM
• Coordinates with Company-approved training facilities to schedule required training
• Ensures the training program follows all applicable FARs and Company policies
• Utilizes a tracking and scheduling system to identify training requirements and keep accurate record of all flight operations staff training records
• Coordinates with Scheduling to match training requirements with available company assets
• Trains Company pilots in all aspects related to the Company procedures.
• Maintains awareness of industry trends with potential effects on training programs.
• Ensures adherence to the GOM, the FSM, the Company issued Operations Specifications and GTM.
• Is delegated by the Director of Operations and Chief Pilot to assign/unassign pilot duty positions
• Is responsible for maintaining pertinent and current questions and answers in the Company’s Computer Based Training (CBT) program.
• The Director of Training, or designee, will coordinate with the Chief Pilot and the DO to ensure that the GTM and the questions contained in the CBT program reflect current revisions to the GOM and Flight Standards manuals.

Supervisory responsibilities

This position will have direct reports.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience

• Associate degree or higher
• Previous Instructor Experience
• Line Pilot Experience-on qualifying aircraft
• ATP Pilots License (Required)
• Knowledge of Part 135 Regulations; Knowledge of GOM; line experience; knowledge of GV applications.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
