Accountant

Xytex is looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our team in Augusta, GA. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing financial reports, analyzing financial trends, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will play a key role in managing financial transactions, maintaining internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making.

What You’ll Do

· Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and financial reports for management review.

· Analyze trends, costs, revenues, and financial obligations to predict future financial performance.

· Maintain accurate accounting records by compiling and entering financial transactions.

· Ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial policies.

· Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.

· Identify financial discrepancies and reconcile accounts.

· Support month-end and year-end closing processes.

· Guide and support accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.

· Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance.

· Continuously improve accounting policies and internal controls to enhance financial accuracy.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.

· 2-4 years of accounting experience in a corporate or financial setting.

· Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.

· Experience with financial statement preparation, general ledger functions, and reconciliations.

· Proficiency in accounting software (Sage100 experience preferred).

· Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.

· Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
