Job Summary
The Horticulture Manager is take charge of directing, scheduling and arranging the fertilization and chemical applications on high-profile commercial properties.
Responsibilities
- Planning, scheduling, and implementing the tasks associated with fertilizer and chemical applications for multiple field technicians
- These activities must result in compliance with contract specifications, budgets, and client expectations
- Monitoring landscape health and care needs
- Diagnose primary turf problems and basic pest identification, as well as performs the chemical and fertilizer application
- Assist in hiring and training of Spray Technicians
- Take a proactive approach to safety by providing proper field safety training, encouraging employees and providing employees with proper safety equipment
Required Education and Experience
- AS or BS degree in Horticulture, Construction, or related field.
- Two to three years of experience in Fertilization and Chemicals leading multiple technicians and properties required
- Experience coaching and overseeing employees responsible for landscaping duties, or other related industry labor.
- Ability to effectively build positive working relationships with crew members.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word.
- Demonstration of an unwavering commitment to Safety.
Work Environment
This position is exposed to a normal office environment and is occasionally subjected to weather, extreme or hazardous conditions.
