Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive and small engine repair, with a focus on maintaining and servicing mowers, two-cycle equipment, and related machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of equipment, including oil changes, air filter rotations, spark plug replacements, battery services, fuel filter changes, and tire rotations.
• Clean, degrease, and detail trucks, trailers, mowers, and two-cycle equipment (e.g., blowers, weed eaters) to ensure peak aesthetics and functionality.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment information, parts used, and hours spent on repairs.
• Work independently to meet maintenance goals and keep equipment in optimal condition without constant supervision.
• Assist in creating and following a comprehensive maintenance schedule for each piece of equipment.
• Recognize when a repair is beyond your skill set and coordinate with external repair shops as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with the Landscape Operations Manager and Crew Leaders regarding equipment needs and preventative maintenance efforts.
• Report any maintenance concerns or unsafe conditions to the supervisor promptly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
• Drive trucks and trailers between equipment yards and to/from vendors for service.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with automotive, mower, and two-cycle equipment.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members.
