This Position supports the work of the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Group Exercise Instructor serves others by intentionally welcoming, connecting, and supporting them. The Group Exercise Instructor, under the guidance and supervision of the Group Fitness Director, will be responsible and accountable for assisting in the development and success of the Group Exercise Program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide a high caliber member experience through safe and effective teaching, using standard exercise principles.
- Be capable of modifying moves to accommodate all fitness levels in your classes.
- Greet, support, and encourage class participants with the sensibilities needed to relate to, and motivate, a diverse membership base.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings.
- Record class attendance numbers.
- Arrive on time and be prepared to deliver your best work.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred
- A nationally recognized group exercise certification is required at time of hire or within one year of hire and must be maintained while employed.
- Must be CPR and First Aid certified within 30 days of hire.
- Must exhibit the core values of the YMCA’s mission (Caring, Respect, Honesty, and Responsibility) when representing the organization, both on and off site
