What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pilates Reformer Instructor starts - $42-51 per class DOE position at YMCA of the East Bay?
The Oakland YMCA is seeking a Pilates Reformer and Mat Instructor to teach small group reformer classes, mat classes, and private personal training instruction. We are seeking instructors who can help achieve the Y’s goals which are to bring families closer together, encourage good health, and foster connections through fitness, enrichment activities and shared interests.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION:
- Provide highly engaging specialized Pilates Reformer instruction to members in small group workouts and personal training sessions.
- Provide instruction to members on the safe use of all equipment and workouts.
- Create fitness program and workshop design as required.
- Engage by greeting members and providing quality member service.
- Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of facility and equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Pilates Reformer certification or Pilates Reformer Level 1 & 2 certificate of completion
- Pilates Mat certification
- Experience teaching group fitness
- Ability to teach and design programs using props, weights, variable resistance, and other class-related equipment.
- Knowledge and understanding of anatomy and fitness principles
- Excellent facilitation skills and customer service experience
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification
AVAILABLE TO TEACH:
Minimum 2 classes a week
