Position Summary: The Community Solutions Director will provide administrative oversight for the implementation of action items derived from the Community Needs Assessment (CNA). This role involves coordinating and managing committees, facilitating stakeholder collaboration, tracking project progress, and ensuring the achievement of project goals and objectives. The Community Solutions Director will play a crucial role in fostering partnerships, securing resources, and addressing the workforce development needs of underserved populations. Reports to VP of Missions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Committee Management:
- Establish and organize committees composed of key stakeholders, including representatives from education and training programs, businesses, non-profit organizations, government officials, and underserved populations.
- Coordinate committee meetings, prepare agendas, and manage communications among members.
- Ensure diverse and inclusive representation within committees, particularly from underserved groups.
Project Coordination:
Develop and maintain project timelines, work plans, and schedules to ensure timely execution of action items.
- Facilitate effective collaboration and information sharing among stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on project progress, making necessary adjustments to meet goals and objectives.
Goal Setting and Monitoring:
Assist committees in setting specific, measurable objectives based on CNA findings.
- Track progress toward achieving goals, identifying and addressing any obstacles.
- Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders and funders.
Resource Allocation:
Identify and secure additional funding opportunities to support project initiatives.
- Manage project budgets and ensure efficient use of resources.
Data Management and Reporting:
Collect and analyze data to perform asset mapping and gap analysis.
- Prepare comprehensive reports that inform stakeholders and guide decision-making.
Community Engagement:
Conduct interviews and focus groups with individuals from underserved populations to gather insights and feedback.
- Promote community awareness of services available to support workforce development.
- Foster a sense of ownership and empowerment among project beneficiaries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management, community development, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals facing poverty, disabilities, seniors, and minority groups.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of local community resources and workforce development programs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to lead community coalitions vigorously, diplomatically, and effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills including interpersonal, written, and public speaking.
- Knowledge of the Greater Mahoning Valley stakeholders (business, nonprofit, government leaders) is desirable.
HOURS WORKED
Employee will normally work full-time, forty (40) hours.
NUMBER OF DAYS WORKED
May vary, but normally five days per week.
OVERTIME HOURS
Generally overtime hours are not scheduled; however, overtime may be required based on the needs of the company.
