Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and assistance to individuals in their homes or healthcare facilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Lift and transfer individuals who may have limited mobility or require assistance
- Provide hospice care and support to individuals and their families during end-of-life stages
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive information
- Offer direct support to individuals with disabilities or special needs
- Assist with medication reminders and administration, as directed by healthcare professionals
- Clean and maintain a safe environment for individuals under your care
Skills:
- Experience with ADLs and providing personal care to individuals
- Proficient in taking vital signs accurately and documenting them appropriately
- Ability to lift heavy objects or individuals, as required for the role
- Familiarity with hospice care practices and providing emotional support to patients and families
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining privacy and confidentiality
- Experience in direct support roles, such as working in assisted living facilities or nursing homes
- Valid driver's license for transportation purposes, if required for the position
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when cleaning and maintaining a clean environment
