POSITION SUMMARY : To facilitate, monitor and document family visits and oversee monitored exchanges in a Family Visitation Center.
WHAT YOU WILL DO :
- Impartially observe and document interactions between the non-residential parent / guardian and the child(ren).
- Facilitate, intervene, and terminate visits when necessary.
- Maintain communication with attorneys, Guardian Ad Litem, courts, and other parties for effective service delivery.
- Ensure visiting rooms are clean and safe.
- Orient families to the visitation center and explain procedures before the first visit.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Set appropriate boundaries with clients.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills.
- Accurately observe and report on parent-child interactions, intervening when necessary for safety.
- Handle emergencies and life-threatening situations effectively.
- Manage stressful situations.
- Possess computer skills for essential tasks.
- Be aware of the socio-cultural characteristics of the population served.
- Demonstrate excellent listening skills.
- Complete additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Authorized to access protected health information.
- Develop visitation plans and schedules for families.
- Assist with data collection, entry, and report generation (monthly, quarterly, and annual).
- Attend court hearings and serve as a record custodian for supervised visits.
- Assist in staff training and skills building for working with at-risk clients.
- Report incidents and accidents according to organizational policies.
- Support special events / projects to enhance center operations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Arrive to work on time and ready to perform duties.
- Adhere to EEO compliance and workplace dignity / respect principles.
- Work cooperatively in team settings.
- Take guidance and direction from supervisors.
- Follow the core values and mission of the agency.
Location : Citrus County
Requirements :
WHAT YOU NEED : A.A. preferred. Experience in human services or childcare preferred. Two years of experience working with children / families.
Physical Requirements : Ability to travel statewide on a regular basis; ability to bend, lift, and carry 30 pounds.
