Position Summary
As we continue to grow, this new role reflects YouthBuild Lake County’s dedication to providing enhanced services and support for our participants, making it an exciting time to join our team.We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Development and Community Relations to advance YBLC’s mission through effective leadership in capital campaigns, donor relations, and community engagement. This role will lead YBLC’s Transforming Futures Campaign, coordinate donor cultivation, oversee marketing and outreach efforts, and manage our CRM and online giving platforms.
Responsibilities
- Capital Campaign Leadership: Drive all aspects of YBLC’s $9M capital campaign, working closely with the Executive Director, Campaign Leadership, and Board members to achieve campaign goals.
- Donor Cultivation & Stewardship: Develop long-term donor relationships, oversee major fundraising events, and ensure meaningful donor recognition.
- Marketing & Community Relations: Manage external communications, public relations, and engagement strategies to elevate YBLC’s presence and impact.
- CRM & Online Giving: Oversee YBLC’s donor management system (Salesforce) and online giving platforms to enhance donor engagement and streamline donation processing.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and develop development team members, setting performance goals and providing regular feedback.

Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fundraising and development, with proven success in capital campaigns.
- Expertise in donor cultivation, marketing, and CRM systems (Salesforce or similar).
- Experience in managing outreach and engagement initiatives, as well as supervising staff.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to YBLC’s mission.
