JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Director of Crisis Services
Program: Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services
Responsible to: YWCA Assistant Director
Classification: Full-Time/Exempt

Specific Qualifications:
1. Ability to manage the program budget, demonstrate leadership, including supervisory skills, motivating teams, problem solving, and employing mindful, team-enhancing communication.
2. Education, professional experience, and/or life experience that enable effective crisis intervention for Sexual Assault (SA) and Domestic Violence (DV) cases.
3. Empathic response skills for SA/DV victims, utilizing trauma-informed, victim-centered, and culturally responsive approach.
4. Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
5. Strict adherence to confidentiality standards within program and community contexts.
6. Availability to provide manager on-call support and direct services during day, evening, and weekend hours as needed.
7. Knowledge of racial and social justice issues (preferred).
8. Proficiency in facilitating interdisciplinary team meetings and drafting/updating interagency agreements.
9. Ability to develop program training cirricula and deliver engaging presentations.
Education & Technical Skills:
1. Bachelor’s Degree (BA or BS) in Social Work, Psychology, or related fields, or near completion of such a degree. A waiver may be granted with 4 years of professional experience, including 3 years in SA, DV, or related field and 1 year in management or supervision.
2. Minimum 2 years of full-time work experience in SA/DV, or related field required.
3. At least 1 year of management or supervisory experience required.
4. Proficiency in Google Workspace, scheduling software, CRM/database tools, and messaging platforms, with the ability to troubleshoot and quickly adapt to new technologies.
Function:
Oversee trauma-informed service delivery and management of 24/7 DV/SA Crisis Intervention Services.
Responsibilities:
1. Ensure adherence to YWCA Personnel Policies and Procedures for all HR-related issues, working with the Director of HR for recruitment and inquiries. Conducts new staff training.
2. Directly supervise Crisis Services Coordinators, TRO Advocate, Kauaʻi Community College Confidential Advocate, and relief Crisis On-Call Advocates, conducting performance evaluations and holding supervisory meetings.
3. Oversee staff performance, provides guidance, accountability, and support to ensure effective teamwork and goal alignment.
4. Work with the Leadership Team to develop and implement strategies that align with the organization’s mission and foster a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
5. Oversee 24/7 hotline and in-person crisis response services. Provide on-call support and serve as a backup for Shelter Director as needed.
6. Manage the Crisis Intervention Services budget in coordination with the Chief Financial Officer and Accountant, including tracking expenditures and ensuring properapprovals,. Attends bi-monthly Directors’ Meetings.
7. Collaborate with Shelter Director to establish and maintain an emergency response plans for Crisis Intervention Services and the Family Violence Shelter, ensuring continuity during emergencies.
8. Coordinate follow-up support, including Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) assistance, and leveraging community resources to provide comprehensive support for families and children.
9. Build and maintain relationships with system partners and community organizations to enhance DV and SA response teamsand improve access to agency services.
10. Provide training and presentations to social service agencies, law enforcement, Child Welfare Services, and community groups on topics realted to SA, DV, and YWCA services.
11. Oversee administrative functions and create educational and support materials for clients accessing SA and DV Services.
12. Ensure compliance with legal requirements for reporting suspected or confirmed child abuse and neglect cases.
13. Assist with YWCA events, including awareness campaigns, fundraisers, quarterly meetings, and staff trainings as needed.
14. Maintain accurate records, prepare statistical reports required by funding contracts and regulations, and meet all reporting deadlines.
15. All other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
1. Valid driver’s license, vehicle and proof of insurance that meets or exceeds the agency’s minimum coverage requirements.
2. Current First Aid and CPR certification.
3. Willing and able to travel within the island and/or off-island as required.
4. Excellent verbal and written skills.
