Shift:
2:30pm-11:00pm Mon-Fri
Position title: Charge Nurse LPN/RN
Requirements:
- Must be a qualified Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse, licensed to practice nursing in the state of Oklahoma.
- Must be physically and mentally capable of performing the duties required.
- Should have at least 6 months experience in a hospital or long term care facility and have training in rehabilitation and/or geriatric care.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Must be willing to work some weekends and some holidays.
Supervisory Controls:
- Reports to the Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Has the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing services for the designated work shift.
- Is responsible for the maintenance of nursing services objective, standards of nursing practice and nursing policies and procedures as written or directed by the Director of Nursing Services.
- Will make rounds to see all residents at least three (3) times per shift.
- Prepares, administers, documents and orders medications given to residents in the facility in a timely manner and according to facility protocol.
- Is responsible for performing treatments on residents per physician orders.
- Assumes a leadership role in directing the duties of nursing assistants on a designated shift.
- Maintains all emergency equipment – checks to see that all equipment is on the tray, properly dated and current.
- Maintains a current knowledge of drugs and drug interactions.
- Attend in-services and licensed nurses meeting as scheduled.
- Calls doctors for orders and reports on condition of the residents when necessary.
- Responds to the emergency needs of the resident.
- Practices and teaches infection control measures
- Other duties as determined by the Director of Nursing Service

- Must communicate effectively.
- Must be able to take as well as give instructions and work as a team member.
The following duties may be included in the work schedule for this position:
Giving and receiving the daily reports; preparing nurse’s aide assignments; preparing, passing and charting medications; administering treatments; taking vital signs, making rounds; charting proper nursing notes; admitting and/or discharging resident; implementing emergency procedures; implementing nursing care plans; utilization of medical records system, and other duties outlined in Tulsa Jewish Health Care Center’s policies and procedures manual.
This job may also include lifting, position, bathing, dressing, feeding, and providing personal care (hair, skin, dentures, oral hygiene, nails, etc.) to residents and changing and making beds.
