Job Title : Cybersecurity Engineer

Location : Qualified candidates need to be located in NC Research Triangle

Reports To : VP of Engineering

Position Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure systems to protect against evolving cyber threats. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and a proactive approach to safeguarding digital assets.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Security Architecture & Design : Develop, implement, and maintain security measures for systems, networks, and applications.
  • Threat Assessment : Monitor and analyze system vulnerabilities and threats, conducting regular penetration tests and security assessments.
  • Incident Response : Respond to security incidents, investigate breaches, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Policy Development : Create and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into development and operational processes.
  • Tools & Technologies : Deploy, configure, and maintain security tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems, and endpoint protection.
  • Training : Educate employees and stakeholders on best practices in cybersecurity and emerging threats.
  • Reporting : Document and report security incidents, trends, and mitigation efforts to stakeholders.

Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security ) are a plus.
  • Experience : 10 years of experience in cybersecurity or related fields.
  • Technical Skills :
  • Proficiency in security technologies and tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS / IPS, firewalls).

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
  • Familiarity with programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Knowledge of cloud security (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Soft Skills :
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication skills to articulate security issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
