The Bakery Commis Chef will be an integral part of the baking team, assisting in the preparation and production of bakery products, including bread, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods. The Commis Chef will work under the supervision of senior kitchen staff to ensure the consistent quality of baked goods and the smooth operation of the bakery.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in the preparation of baked goods, including bread, cakes, cookies, pastries, and other items as per the bakery's recipes and standards.
- Follow recipes and baking instructions carefully to ensure consistency and quality of products.
- Measure ingredients accurately and prepare doughs, batters, and other components for baking.
- Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and other machinery, ensuring proper usage and cleanliness.
- Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen and workstations, including regular cleaning of equipment, utensils, and tools.
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients to maintain freshness, and label and store items according to health and safety guidelines.
- Monitor the baking process to ensure items are baked to perfection, adjusting temperature and timing as needed.
- Assist senior chefs with plating and presentation of finished baked goods.
- Ensure all items are produced on time and meet the required standards in terms of quality, taste, and presentation.
- Help with stock rotation and inventory management, ensuring that ingredients are used before they expire.
- Assist in the preparation of the kitchen before the opening hours and clean up after closing.
