7N is looking for a highly skilled Senior Bid Manager to join our dynamic Bid & Proposal team. The Senior Bid Manager will be responsible for managing the end-to-end bid process and creating high-quality, client-focused proposals. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, developing bid strategies, and maintaining strong relationships with relevant stakeholders. The successful candidate will report to the Vice President of the area and work alongside two other Bid Managers.
Key Responsibilities
For Individual Bids:
Management: Manage the end-to-end bid process.
Strategy Development: Formulate comprehensive bid strategies aligned with company goals and client requirements.
Proposal Development: Oversee the creation of high-quality proposals that effectively address client needs and showcase the company's strengths.
Contributor: Contribute to the written proposal, both in terms of content and presentation (e.g., providing guidance around the executive summary).
Commercial: Prepare and review the commercial aspects of the bid, ensuring all products/services are included in the final price to the customer.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks associated with bids and develop mitigation strategies.
Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and client requirements throughout the bid lifecycle.
General Across Bids:
Performance Analysis and Reporting: Track bid outcomes, analyze success rates, and prepare reports for senior management.
Improvements: Drive continuous improvement through post-bid reviews, both internally and with customers.
Measure of Success
Number of bids submitted
Win rate (initially, with future metrics including revenue/margin/recurrence)
Bid margin
Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in bid management.
Skills:
Project Management: Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and lead cross-functional teams.
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with bid management software and tools such as Salesforce, Excel, and CRM systems.
