Join Ambu as manager for our Application Software team and play a central role in developing the software in our leading endoscopy display units, used by clinicians around the world.

Lead the future of medical display technology
You’ll be part of an ambitious, collaborative, and growing R&D organization at the forefront of medical innovation. You’ll join the Software & Electronics department, a growing, global team of 70 professionals across Denmark, Germany, and Malaysia. Based at our headquarters in Ballerup, you will lead a cross-functional team of 10 developers, testers, and UX designers and report directly to the Vice President of Software & Electronics.

Key responsibilities
You’ll be a key contributor in developing current and next-generation display software platforms, guiding both team and technical direction. Your role includes:

• Leading a multidisciplinary team in building intuitive, high-quality software for medical display platforms.

• Guide and develop a diverse team of engineers and UX professionals, fostering customer centricity, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Participating in the Software & Electronics management team and contributing to departmental strategy and improvements.

• Collaborating across company functions and sites to ensure on-time, compliant delivery aligned with our endoscope solutions.

• Defining and driving architectural and design principles for the application software layer.

• Ensuring strong alignment and collaboration across Software & Electronics teams such as electronics, embedded software, DevOps, algorithms & AI, and systems release.

• Supporting thorough documentation, change requests, and design reviews to ensure compliance with medical device standards.

Suggested candidate profile
We’re looking for a technically grounded software leader with a collaborative mindset and passion for quality and innovation. Ideally, you have:

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar technical background.

• Proven leadership experience in software development, ideally in a regulated or product-based industry.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a global, cross-functional setup.

• A user-centered mindset and interest in delivering solutions across hardware & software.

• Experience with architectural design principles and modern agile development practices.

• Experience with medical software or complex systems is an advantage.

• Experience with technologies like C , Embedded Linux, Qt Framework or GStreamer.

• Willingness to travel up to 15–20 days per year for collaboration across sites and partners.

The position is based at our HQ in Ballerup with flexibility to work from home when needed.
