The Role

As Global Medical Scientist you will be a key member of our Global Medical Affairs team, responsible for external-facing activities and providing clinical and scientific expertise to our local markets. You will play a crucial role in advancing our innovative TransCon technology within the endocrinology community, aligned with Ascendis Pharma's current and future therapeutic areas. You will collaborate with key opinion leaders, contribute to high-impact congress activities, and provide valuable insights to shape our strategy in rare endocrinological diseases.

The role is based in Copenhagen, and you will report to the Senior Director CNP, Medical Affairs.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Build awareness of Ascendis Pharma and our TransCon technology in the endocrinology community
  • Identify and engage with key opinion leaders (KOLs), rising stars, and reference centers in rare endocrinology
  • Share scientific and medical insights with healthcare professionals through 1:1 meetings and conferences
  • Gather and communicate key insights on disease areas, competitive landscape, and unmet medical needs
  • Support Global congress activities, including symposia´s
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of Global Advisory Boards and other key KOL meetings
  • Assist in the development of materials for local congresses and ensure consistency across regions
  • Provide expert medical input to support reimbursement and policy-related activities
  • Ensure full compliance with internal SOPs and global regulatory requirements

Your Qualifications and Skills

  • MD, PhD, PharmD or equivalent degree is preferred
  • Background expertise in endocrinology, pediatric endocrinology, genetics, skeletal dysplasia, and/or growth and development Bone Disease are highly preferred
  • 5 years of Medical Affairs practice or research experience
  • Required to maintain expertise and up-to-date knowledge of applicable literature, disease state information, and landscape trends within aligned therapeutic area(s)
  • Biotech / pharmaceutical industry experience from both local and global roles, with understanding of drug development and Medical Affairs function
  • A strong ability to interpret and articulate clinical/HEOR data and the impact on clinical development and commercial programs
  • In depth understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical Medical Affairs, R&D and Commercial activities
  • Ability to travel internationally to conferences and meetings, which will include occasional weekend travel
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
