Student Worker Frontend development

YOUR TEAM
Join our dedicated team of tech enthusiasts based in Aarhus and Brande. We work in an agile environment, embracing change and striving for the best possible outcomes. Our team consists of an architect, a product owner, an analyst/scrum master, back-end and front-end developers and a student worker. You'll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with our current student worker and the rest of our dedicated team, ensuring you're never alone. We value being social and hold socializing events often to foster team spirit and collaboration.

YOUR ROLE
You'll have the opportunity to enhance and improve some of the key business-critical IT systems used internally throughout Bestseller. We offer plenty of room for growth, both personally and professionally, and a chance to get hands-on experience working with some of the latest technologies to generate real-life value for many end-users throughout the organization. You get the chance to take ownership of your tasks and help drive our projects forward.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop features and fix bugs in our frontend. Our frontend tech stack comprises React with MUI, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Jest/React Testing Library.
• Maintain and improve the quality of our codebase through the implementation of software development best practices.
• Contribute new perspectives and ideas on how to streamline and improve our codebase and workflow.
• It's a bonus if you are curious and interested in learning about the rest of our stack, but it's not a requirement.

You will be based in Aarhus and/or Brande with the option to work from home. The estimated workload is 10-16 hours weekly and you’ll have the flexibility to plan your own time.

YOUR PROFILE
Your primary role will be to turn features into code and fix bugs as they arise. We are looking for someone who takes great pride in software development as a craft, aspires to write code that is easy to work with, and is informed by best practices while recognizing that nothing is ever black and white. You'll have the opportunity to put your theoretical knowledge about professional software development into practice and apply it to exciting and demanding challenges that allow you to grow and make a real difference for our end users throughout the organization.

If you're someone who isn't afraid to challenge existing processes and question the status quo, you'll fit right in! We are especially looking for you if you:

• Are enrolled in a relevant field of study, such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT-product Development or similar.
• Have experience with or a desire to learn React, Typescript, and GraphQL used at scale
• Are proactive, curious, and eager to learn and grow, and take pride in developing resilient, stable, and well-written software that is highly maintainable and a joy to work with
• Are a team player and not afraid to ask questions
