Senior Backend Developer – Projects (Sustainability / Water domain)

The Role

Our team in the Czech Republic is responsible for the project support, development and maintenance of the products, developed in Czech office and part of DHI’s technology portfolio of Digital Solutions, and we are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join us.

As a Senior Developer for DHI, you will be responsible for handling multiple projects locally and overseas (remotely). You will work in close collaboration with our developers around the world, with our water experts, and with our team in the Czech Republic.

We are looking for an experienced software development professional with strong analytics skills, oriented towards customer and product excellence.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:

• Supporting of projects, executed by Czech or international offices.
• Development and maintenance of backend parts of products, mainly (but not only) developed by Czech office.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define innovative solutions.
• Development of the extensions for the core DHI products.

Skills and Qualifications
Required

• Proven experience as a Senior Developer working on backend parts of the SW products.
• Proven experience in .NET technology, C# development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Software Information.
• Minimum of 5 years experience working in Software Development and/or Information Technology.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Python.
• Strong communication abilities.
• Proficient skills in written and verbal English.

Desirable

• Familiarity with Postgres eventually SQLite
• Familiarity working with Spatial data
• Familiarity working with GIS systems (ESRI products, QGIS or similar)
• Familiarity with GDAL / PostGIS
• Experience with C
• Familiarity working with Time series optimized storage/querying/ postprocesing
• In-Depth knowledge of Agile process and principles.
• Proficient knowledge of work organisation using systems such as Azure DevOps or JIRA.
