POSTED ON 4/25/2025 AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/25/2025
European Energy A/S Søborg, Full Time

Do you want to work in our fast-expanding portfolio of flexible assets? Would it motivate you to be part of the analysis and optimisation of the value of flexibility and ancillary services for batteries, PtX, solar, and wind assets? Have you recently graduated and are eager to kick-start your career within the green transition? Then perhaps you are our new Energy Market Analyst.

European Energy is a green energy company in exponential growth. We develop, construct, and operate projects within solar- (PV), BESS and wind farms globally, as well as Power-to-X. Our core values are the foundation of everything we do: In it together, Trust and courage, Ambition, Excitement, Inclusion, and Agility.

Your new team
You will be part the Energy Trading & PPA team, which is responsible for green power sales to energy distributors and corporate off-takers. The team currently consists of 10 full-time employees and is split into three sub-teams: Origination, Power Market Analysis, and Risk Management. You will sit with the Power Market Analysis team, which is based in Copenhagen.

European Energy is a dynamic work environment and there will be opportunities to get involved in many areas of the business.

How you will create an impact
Your role will be centred around investigating revenue streams for flexible assets and assist with modelling the potential value for European Energy. You will help analyse and aggregate commercial input and market intelligence for the valuation of flexible assets. You have an active interest in the energy markets, and you will help increase the short- and long-term analytical capacity in the department.

Your workday will mainly be days at the office doing analysis but also attending industry events to meet potential partners.

Ad hoc tasks and challenges will be part of the role as the renewable energy business moves into new areas. Expect regular interactions with internal stakeholders as well as project/business developers from wind, solar, PtX, and batteries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist project teams who wish to examine the revenue streams from batteries and other flexible assets.
  • Provide analytical support for wind and solar assets participating in ancillary services.
  • Build up and maintain knowledge of ancillary service markets in our core countries as well as intraday trading opportunities.
  • Help evaluate battery offtake services offered by traders and value the expected return.
  • Build relationships with project developers, external market analysts and internal stakeholders such as M&A and financing departments.

To thrive in the role, we imagine the following competencies would be important

  • You have a relevant education and a basic understanding of short-term electricity markets.
  • You have recently graduated or only few years of full-time employment.
  • You have ideally tried working in the energy sector either through previous employment, internships or student assistant positions.
  • You are eager to immerse yourself in complex topics within the energy markets.
  • You are fully proficient in English, oral and written, and additional European languages would be an advantage.
  • You are good at communicating complex findings to stakeholders with different backgrounds.
  • You have experience with handling large data sets.
  • You are an experienced user of MS Excel and have experience with coding software to support your own analysis.

As a person, you are a self-starter, take initiative, and enjoy working independently with great opportunities for sparring within the team. You are friendly and curious, and you use this to build relationships internally with other departments as well as externally in the energy market.

We offer

  • We offer an opportunity to impact our flexible asset strategy across our global portfolio in the renewable energy sector.
  • You will be close to the business and be involved in projects in close collaboration with project development as well as the M&A and Project Financing team.
  • We have an entrepreneurial approach to our work. In daily life, it means there’s not far from thought to action.
  • A fast-paced environment with plenty of opportunities for learning about the full value chain of developing renewable energy.
  • Knowledge sharing is important for us. We start every Monday with our global weekly morning meeting. Here the executive management and departments give us an update on projects and current focus areas.
  • You will be part of a truly international company. With 43 nationalities represented, you will hear a lot of different languages working across borders.
