As our new formulation Scientist, you will specialize in the delivery of cannabinoids; you will play a vital role in our organization, being part of our early-phase development. You have a scientific and innovative mind-set and understand how to translate knowledge into new technological achievement in relation to delivery. We are seeking a visionary, innovative, and explorative formulation scientist with hands-on development experience within the field of highly lipophilic drugs who possesses a passionate dedication to improving delivery. Your background within science and innovation allows you to easily tap into external networks and collaborations with universities and CROs.

Job description:

• You will be executing our strategy within technological & pharmaceutical development. To do so, you will have hands-on laboratory work and be evaluating and characterizing the performance of prioritized delivery technologies.
• You will be developing solid dosage forms such as powder, compressed gum, tablets, and chewables.
• You will prepare and execute on product development protocols/reports and ensure documentation at right level as compatibility, physically/chemically stability, release/dissolution, processability, homogeneity, optimal sensorial experience by masking and designing well tasting prototypes, upscale/technical transfer etc.
• You will be gathering knowledge by reading scientific articles, patents, studies, and seeking inspiration and ideas from other areas of application which you can translate into technological development.
• You will be connected to a network of knowledgeable people within the drug delivery area, and you will build those relationships.
• You will prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to management and collaborators, demonstrating our capabilities and innovative solutions.
• Identify and assess opportunities to patent novel ideas, concepts, and discoveries.
• Work closely with legal experts to secure patents for intellectual property.
• Travel for meetings and cooperation, joined development projects, exhibition, seminars, external cooperation etc.

Your background:

• You are a pharmacist or chemist, hold a master’s degree in chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or have a similar academic background.
• You have a minimum of three years of experience in pharmaceutical development, and you appreciate the investigation and characterization of new active agents and strategies for their successful application in various fields of interest.
• You have hands-on formulation work experience and experience with oral solid dosage forms, granulation, encapsulation techniques and experience with formulation stability schedule.
• You have experience with selection of suitable formulation technology based on physicochemical properties of the API, solubility and excipient compatibility data.
• Expertise in upscale and technical transfer of R&D products into production.
• Suitable experience within analysis, QA/QC and regulatory affairs.
• You have experience in reading scientific articles, patents, studies, etc., subtracting the essence and disseminating insights to an interdisciplinary group.
• You have experience in establishing and maintaining professional networks.
• You have experience with project management of academic projects.
