Finance Coordinator - Kyiv, Ukraine

POSITION OBJECTIVES
The Finance Coordinator will oversee and manages the financial operations of DCA, ensuring compliance with donor requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational policies. The role involves managing budgets, financial reporting, and providing financial guidance to support the DCA’s mission and programmme.

Regardless of the content of this job description the employee is expected to participate in any task necessary for the organization delegated by the manager at all times.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage projects’ budgets, monitor the expenditures and costs, ensure budget lines are spent in a timely and efficient manner.

• Ensure thorough and effective budgetary control in the country programmes in coordination with the Head of Support Services.
• Prepare monthly budget follow-up (BvA) for each grant funding activities in DCA.
• Prepare donor financial reports in compliance with signed contracts and donor’s requirements.
• Review monthly payroll, including the calculation and recording of applicable benefits (Taxes and social security) in the payroll spreadsheet.
• Ensure all expenditures are carried out in accordance with the DCA and donor requirements, and all relevant files for documentation are created, updated, and maintained.
• Support the programme staff by explaining and monitoring the use of the budgeted operational plan to ensure all activities incurred are in line with the agreed, approved plan.
• Ensure regular financial briefings to relevant Manager including budget follow ups, variances in spending and budget monitoring status.
• Prepare on-time monthly cash requests, based on budget and cash flow projections, to ensure the project has all necessary funds for operations.
• Processing payments, expenditures and disbursements, bookkeeping of transactions into Maconomy;
• Ensure month end accounting is carried out including cash counts and reconciliation of cash, inter-company accounts as well as all bank accounts on monthly basis.
• Prepare all documentation required for audits.Degree in accounting and financial management

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management in a humanitarian/recovery or development context
• Proven track record of managing financial operations in a complex, multi-entity organization.
• Fluency in English, both written and oral
