Under the supervision of the Protection Field Coordinator (MHPSS/GBV), the Protection officers will work in the mobile unite for the multi-sectoral emergency assistance for the most vulnerable conflict-affected people.
The Protection Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day support of DCA’s protection activities in Ukraine including but not limited to ensuring
that DCA’s protection policies and procedures are followed and implemented consistently.
• Facilitation of trainings on GBV mainstreaming, and psychoeducational topics.
• Supervising the day-to-day implementation of MHPSS activities in the assigned project location
.• To ensure the development and implementation of MHPSS and GBV programs on the main Protection topics, such as psychological first aid, PSS at the community level, and psychosocial support.
• Ensure the organization of data, storage of information/documents on the number of registered cases/appeals about psychological/physical violence, etc.
• Creates and regularly updates reports of cases and outreach activities.
• Submit timely project reports (monthly/ weekly) including quantitative and qualitative data to the upper management.
• Ensure proper use of forms and confidential referral follow up.
• Strengthen the referral system to community institutions for the care of survivors of psychological/physical violence.
• Promotes and takes an active part in quality improvement processes.
• Responsible for the implementation of Protection activities, closely monitoring, evaluating, and reporting their development and flagging potential issues on time.
• Able to travel to different partners in various locations in Ukraine.
• Ensures implementation of case management and MHPSS intervention, referrals, follow-up in a timely manner. The worker is responsible for providing direct support, psychosocial support services to vulnerable population. • In-depth knowledge and experience of mental health and psychosocial interventions in a humanitarian response context, tailored to care for Violence and Mental health.
• Knowledge of the methodology of assessment, consultations, and provision of psychological support to vulnerable population
• Communication and facilitation skills, strong interpersonal skills.
• Soft skills: sincerity, responsibility, honesty, openness, desire to help, ability to evaluate people, empathy.
• User of MS Office, Internet
• English A2/B1
Work related travels are expected in this position.
