Communications Coordinator
Do you want to join our mission to make the maritime industry more sustainable for both people and planet? The Global Maritime Forum is looking to expand our communications team of five full-time staff with a person who is a well-organised and keen communicator probably at the beginning of their career. You have the chance to become part of our international, diverse team of purpose-driven individuals in a role that supports all the organisation’s communications efforts.
Does that sound interesting? Keep reading to learn more!
The person we need is a strong writer, well-organised, has good interpersonal skills, and can handle shifting between a wide array of communication tasks.
You will report to the Director of Communications, Rasmus Nord Jørgensen, and work closely with the entire communications team as well as with colleagues across the organisation.
Responsibilities and tasks
The Communications Coordinator will support most aspects of the communications process, playing a key role in coordinating internal and external communication efforts, managing media interactions, and ensuring the smooth delivery of high-quality content.
With a high volume of content and concurrent projects that need communication support, the Communications Coordinator is essential for managing content flow, coordinating inbound requests, and supporting launches and media activities. This role assists the PR lead, content manager, and editor by ensuring deadlines are met, and facilitating efficient processes across various communications initiatives, as well as through drafting content items and editing texts.
Acting as the main point of contact for project updates and cross-departmental communication, the coordinator ensures seamless information flow and alignment across the organisation.
Externally, they serve as a liaison to media, partners and other stakeholders, verifying that logos are accurate, quotes are approved, and branding is consistent across all materials. They support the logistics of delivering reports, publications, and other key resources, following up as necessary to guarantee timely and precise content distribution.
Their keen organisational skills contribute to refining project management processes, enhancing overall efficiency across the team.
Who is suitable for this role?
We are looking for a communicator, who probably has some relevant experience from internships or student jobs. The hardest part of this job is likely managing the wide array or tasks big and small and keeping track of the many people and organisations that intersect with our work, such as our 60 partners, media and journalists, as well as knowledge partners that we collaborate with in our numerous projects. It is therefore vital that the candidate can juggle multiple tasks and workstreams. The upside is that you will - over time - get experience with a wide array of communication aspects and a significant understanding of both the maritime sector and the NGOs working in the climate and sustainability space.
What we offer
We offer an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, growing international not-for-profit organisation and a purpose-driven team. We are driven by our passion for making the maritime industry more sustainable. We have high ambitions, but a strong culture of continuous learning and growth, curiosity and collaboration and an empowering and inclusive work environment. Our organisation is young and dynamic, and there is space for both the social and the serious.
As this is an entry-level position, the salary will be 36,000-38,000 DKK, including a 10% employer pension contribution, depending on your qualifications and experience level.
The position is full-time, with a weekly working time of 37.5 hours, including lunch break. The expected start date is 1 May to 1 June.
The duty station is our Copenhagen office with the possibility to work from home as per agreement with your manager. A valid working permit in Denmark is required.
