As our new Acoustic engineer, you will be improving the consistency of FalComs audio features. You will directly affect how FalComs equipment interacts with our users’ communications devices.
The team you will be part of:
We are an innovative team of specialists located at our HQ, located in Ballerup, Denmark. You will join our Audio Engineering team in the FalCom division, which is built on GN’s foundation as a leader in intelligent audio solutions.
We create advanced hearing protection solutions that allow special operations, military, law enforcement and security personnel to communicate in the most extreme environments – all while providing high-quality hearing protection.
You will be part of a small team of international software, hardware, and mechanical engineers. The team is characterized by a collaborative, fun, and inclusive atmosphere.
We develop sophisticated software and hardware for low-power communication solutions. We work with flexibility and in teams as needed, and together we navigate in a project-oriented development culture, collaborating with colleagues across GN and especially with our R&D and sales functions.
You report to Senior Manager SW & Audio Engineering, Jens Kirkelund, who explains: “It’s a very interesting position. You’ll have a lot of influence of FalComs audio experiences . It is a great opportunity for learning”.
Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:
Participate in new FalCom projects, and contribute with acoustic know-how
Explore new technologies to improve product performance and quality
Test and calibrate prototypes to meet performance requirements
Conduct acoustic measurements and analysis.
Verify signal processing algorithms and communication enhancement.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Develop testing methodology to evaluate performance
Use simulation tools for development
Collaborate with all acoustic engineers in GN
To perform well in the role, we imagine that you have:
A master’s degree in acoustic engineering, or similar
Product development work experience
Experience with audio measurement equipment and analysis tools
Experience with simulation tools, such as lumped models, and more advanced tools such as Comsol
Programming skills in languages like MATLAB
Knowledge of electroacoustics and transducer technology
Understanding of signal processing techniques
Understanding of psychoacoustics and auditory perception
