Systems Field Application Technician

As our System Field Application Engineer, you will be the direct link to our customers. You will directly affect how our equipment interacts with our users’ communications devices in the field.

The team you will be part of
An innovative team of specialists at our HQ, located in Ballerup, Denmark, you join our Audio Engineering team in the FalCom division, which is built on GN’s foundation as a specialist in intelligent audio solutions

We create advanced hearing protection solutions that allow special operations, military, law enforcement, and security personnel to communicate in the most extreme environments – all while providing the highest-quality hearing protection.

You will join a close-knit group of engineers from various specialties including software, hardware, and mechanics from around the globe. The team is characterized by a collaborative, fun, and inclusive atmosphere.

We develop sophisticated software and hardware for low-power communication solutions. We engage in collaboration both individually and collectively, tailoring our approach to fit project demands, while working closely with colleagues across GN, particularly in R&D and sales.

You will report to Senior Manager, Audio Engineering, Jens Kirkelund, who explains: “It’s a very interesting position. You’ll enjoy much freedom in your work, and you get to travel, experience different cultures, and work with all aspects of FalComs products as well as the customer solutions. solutions. Your contribution is appreciated, and you will:
Take part in developing and designing our prototype communication systems, which include working with radios, intercom systems, and data devices at the users’ location, as well as simulating these setups in our global office. Specifically, you will:

• Design and integrate analog/digital communication systems.
• Develop connection interface documentation for the communication systems.
• Implement and debug prototypes.
• Adjust audio profile software to obtain optimum results.
• Document your work

To thrive in this position, we envision that you possess:

• An educational background in systems engineering or another relevant field
• Some years of experience in software and/or electronic development by which qualifies you are an experienced engineer.
• Experience with audio electronics.
• Experience with tactical radios and knowledge of IP networks
• The ability to manage several projects consecutively and possess well-developed stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge in soldering.
• Knowledge of EMC design.
• Speak and write English fluently.
