The Position
We’re looking for a skilled and forward-thinking Senior Front-End Engineer to lead the migration of Linkfire’s link creation platform from Ember.js to React. This isn’t just a rebuild — it’s a foundational evolution of our product that will directly influence the way we innovate and scale.
You’ll be taking the technical lead on this mission-critical project, working in close collaboration with Backend Engineers, Designers, and Product Managers to shape a modern, robust and scalable frontend platform that supports our future growth.
This is a high-impact role where your contributions will be seen and felt across the entire organisation and beyond, as we continue to support artists in transforming how they share their music with the world.
What will you be doing
Strategic responsibilities:
- Lead the architectural design and migration from Ember.js to React.
- Define and drive a long-term frontend strategy that supports product growth and innovation.
- Own the technical execution and play a pivotal role in establishing best practices across frontend development.
- Be a key contributor to product direction by translating technical potential into real-world artist experiences.
- Foster collaboration across engineering, product and design to ensure a seamless and high-quality user experience.
Tactical responsibilities:
- Architect and drive the migration of our Ember.js link creation platform to React, ensuring a seamless and efficient transition.
- Develop high-quality, performant React code for new features and functionalities within the migrated link creation platform, contributing to a modern and intuitive user interface.
- Lead by example, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of excellence within the team.
- Work closely with backend engineers on API design, with designers on UI/UX best practices, and with product managers to drive the project towards successful and timely completion.
- Lead the implementation of frontend architecture patterns, coding standards, and testing methodologies within the React environment at Linkfire.
- Own the technical challenges of the migration, proactively identify potential issues, and drive the team to effective solutions.
About you:
- Extensive experience (5 years) as a Software Engineer with a strong emphasis on Frontend engineering.
- Mastery of React and its ecosystem, with deep knowledge of component design, state management solutions, and performance optimization techniques.
- Proven experience with React and its server-side rendering capabilities, ideally within a production environment.
- Demonstrated experience in leading significant frontend migrations or re-platforming projects. (Ember.js experience is advantageous but not mandatory).
- Deep understanding of modern frontend development workflows, tools, and industry best practices.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to clearly convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience in a leadership or mentorship capacity, showing the ability to guide and develop less experienced engineers.
- Thrives in a fully remote and collaborative work environment.
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset and a passion for building impactful, high-quality solutions for the music industry.
Bonus points if you also bring:
- Experience with Ember.js in a production setting.
- Familiarity with UI/UX principles and design systems tailored for SaaS platforms.
- Experience with modern testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, etc.).
- A genuine passion for music and the entertainment industry.
