At the Red Cross, we work to ensure that everyone knows first aid. A quick first aid response can help save lives, and knowing first aid strengthens our ability and readiness to take care of ourselves and each other.
We run a number of first aid courses annually and have several instructors attached. First aid as an activity has great potential, and we have high hopes for the development of the course business. We are therefore looking for a committed volunteer leader who will run the first aid activity in our department.
As a first aid activity leader, you get a lot in return:
- Opportunity to make a difference for many people
- Courses in leadership, volunteering and first aid
- A large community, an exciting network and a strong organization to support you in your task
What do you do as an activity leader?
As an activity manager, you collaborate with, for example, youth schools and driving schools to market first aid courses, you prepare marketing materials, seek course participants and ensure a good course administration. You recruit instructors and make sure that they are motivated and thrive. You must be able to delegate, communicate and set a direction for first aid locally and to some extent also collaborate with the other Red Cross departments and the organization on campaigns, profiling and sales. You will be given a contact on the board so that you always have access to support.
How much time you spend on the activity will largely depend on you and will probably vary throughout the year. Most activity leaders spend 3-4 hours a week and meet with the instructors a couple of times a year. Having knowledge of first aid is an advantage, but not a requirement. We provide a good introduction to the tasks and a handover from the current activity leader.
It Is An Advantage That You
- Have tried their hand at leading and organizing and are good at collaborating with many different people
- Communicates clearly and patiently and values collaboration
- Are used to using IT systems
- Passionate about creating something with others and seeing results from your efforts
We look forward to hearing from you!
