Joining our Global Consumer Services (GCS) department at our head quarter in Hørsholm, you will be part of a dedicated team focusing on driving strategic important projects aimed at driving growth and providing better customer experiences through new services.

Offering Consumer services is a new business area for VELUX, and you will be stepping in to a small start-up like environment in our large corporation, set out to innovate and define how VELUX become a trusted partner for homeowners in the future.

About the job

As our new Senior Business Development Manager, you will step into a versatile role, where you will be driving important and complex projects by leveraging your problem-solving toolbox, great stakeholder management skills and understanding of customer needs. Moreover, you will drive GCS annual strategy process, identifying priorities for the coming year, and you will prepare relevant material on Global Consumer Services for stakeholder meetings, steerco’s etc., and support management on ad-hoc requests on strategic analysis and problem-solving.

More specifically, you will:

  • Drive exploration initiatives to identify pockets of service opportunities through in-depth analysis and by applying a hypothesis driven approach to problem solving
  • Turn service opportunities into meaningful and actionable projects and activities and propose projects to be prioritized
  • Identify and onboard relevant people to projects and ensure high motivation and engagement.
  • Drive Service Design projects and ensure progress (service design, market and customer segmentation, value proposition creation)
  • Ensure continuous involvement and support from key stakeholders in group functions and regions
  • Play a key role in making the Business Development team a respected function within the larger VELUX community by delivering strong results on all engagements and living the VELUX values

As the role has an international scope, you can expect some travel activity, when relevant. This role will report to the Head of Business Development in Global Consumer Services, Signe Karlsson.

About you

You are characterized by your analytical and commercial mindset, and you possess a solid methodical toolbox for maturing business ideas. You are curious by heart, comfortable with the unknowns, and innovative commercial thinking is one of your specialties. Your eagerness to learn and move things forward drives you to take initiative in your work, and you are committed to achieving your goals and take ownership of your deliverables.

With your structured and systematic approach, you have an ability to simplify what’s complex, deliver on your deadlines and make clear and precise pitch, launch and presentation materials.

Moreover, you hold a collaborative mindset. Utilizing your solid stakeholder management skills, and you efficiently work and communicate across all levels of an organization and with a diverse group of stakeholders, and you seek to deeply understand the business context you work within and adjust your work and recommendations to be relevant within that context. You quickly establish rapport with people at all levels and your demeanor instills trust and confidence by which you are able to incentivize and motivate stakeholders to buy-in. You actively propose, recommend and lead the way, but you understand that to succeed, you must be an even stronger listener.

We imagine that you:

  • Have a master’s degree from a business school or university in a relevant subject such as economics or business.
  • Bring experience from a role focusing on the growth agenda, in particular business and service model innovation and strategy execution
  • Have recent Management Consulting Experience or in-house Strategy and/or Business Development experience with successful commercial engagements – ideally from a branded goods player with a B2C focus
  • Have experience working with innovation frameworks, commercial partnerships and an interest in new tech-development
  • Possess a solid problem-solving toolbox and profound analytical capacity
  • Have excellent communication skills and are fluent in written and spoken English
