Be the new Principal Modeling & Simulation Specialist In a biotech company bonding to discover, design and develop innovative peptide-based medicines. Currently, we are looking for a principal modeling and simulation specialist with extensive experience in modeling and simulation, a strong background in pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD), and a deep understanding of biology, physiology, and regulatory mechanisms. Modeling & Simulation is a new Department within Pharmacokinetics, Immunogenicity and Bioanalytical Sciences under Research and Non-clinical Development. The Department will have the responsibilities to support clinical development projects and late phase research projects by setting the direction and drive execution of translational PK and PK/PD strategies. In addition, the Department will be responsible for building mathematical models and performing human PK and PD simulations to guide non-clinical and clinical study designs as well as regulatory discussions. You will report directly to the Head of Modeling and Simulation. The position is based in our headquarter in Søborg, Copenhagen area. Responsibilities Develop and implement mathematical models to simulate human pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics (PD) for non-clinical and clinical study designs. Perform human PK and PD simulations to support regulatory interactions and submissions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate modeling and simulation insights into clinical development and late-phase research projects. Ensure the accuracy and reliability of simulation models through rigorous testing and validation. Stay current with advancements in modeling and simulation technologies and methodologies, incorporating best practices into projects. Prepare and present detailed reports and visualizations of simulation outcomes to stakeholders. Oversee outsourced modeling and simulation activities, ensuring they meet quality standards and project requirements. Support the development and execution of translational PK and PK/PD strategies. Candidate profile MSc degree or PhD within Pharmaceutical, Medical, Engineering, Statistical or Mathematical sciences or equivalent. At least 5 years of experience in modeling and simulation within pharma or biotech industry and a proven track record of leading successful projects. Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacokinetics (PK), including the processes of absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion of drugs. In-depth understanding of biology, physiology, and various regulatory mechanisms. Proficiency in simulation software (e.g. Phoenix WNL/NLME or similar) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop accurate models. Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
