Position Summary
The Manager – M&A / Corporate Development (5-8 years) will operate as a key dealmaker within the corporate development function, playing a pivotal role in the origination, evaluation, and execution of strategic transactions. This individual will lead end-to-end M&A processes—ranging from platform acquisitions and bolt-ons to carve-outs, JVs, and complex special situations—while serving as a strategic interface between senior leadership, business units, and external advisors. The role combines technical transactional depth with strategic and operational exposure, offering direct access to C-level decision-makers and supervisory stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities
- Transaction Leadership: Oversee all stages of the M&A lifecycle—from target screening and strategic fit assessment to valuation, due diligence, negotiation, and post-deal execution.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary liaison between internal functional leaders and external partners (e.g., investment banks, legal advisors, consultants) to ensure seamless execution across workstreams.
- Financial Analysis & Valuation: Build and own detailed financial models (integrated P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow forecasts) and conduct scenario-based valuations to support investment decisions.
- Strategic Assessment: Contribute to commercial and operational due diligence by evaluating business models, market dynamics, and synergies in collaboration with internal experts.
- Board-Level Communication: Develop high-impact investment memoranda and decision papers for executive and supervisory board approval processes.
- Post-Merger Initiatives: Partner with the CFO and broader leadership team to support post-transaction integration, synergy capture, and performance tracking.
Candidate Profile
- Proven transaction experience in M&A, investment banking, strategy consulting, or corporate development, with demonstrable end-to-end execution exposure (5-8 years).
- Strong command of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and investment analysis.
- Commercial acumen with a structured, analytical mindset and high attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and manage external partners in fast-paced deal environments.
- Industry familiarity with industrials, logistics, or infrastructure sectors is advantageous.
- German language proficiency preferred; fluency in English is essential.
