Vice President - Legal Counsel Employment Law (gn)

For our client, a leading global universal bank with its European headquarters in Frankfurt, we are currently looking for a Vice President - Legal Counsel (gn)

.

Tasks:

• Ensure appropriate and commercially sound legal advice in view of adequate management of the Bank’s legal risks related to employment law and litigation
• Ensure that the Bank operates in line with applicable rules and regulations in areas of employment law and remuneration
• Provide timely and pragmatic advice to HR and Legal functions in EU concerning employment law matters
• Ensure consistency and efficiency of the advice provided to internal stakeholders
• Manage / reduce costs for external counsel by advising internally and / or manage external counsel efficiently

Requirements:

• Legal Education & Qualifications (1st and 2nd German Bar Exam) paired with employment law qualification (Fachanwalt für Arbeitsrecht). Knowledge in and experience with French employment law would be a plus
• 5 years experience in the financial sector gained in a law firm, in-house in a financial institution or international corporation with focus on complex employment law related cases, drafting of relevant documentation and policies/procedures, performance management and restructuring
• Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills paired with understanding cross-cultural aspects in a diverse and inclusive environment
• Ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers and work with different stakeholders on various corporate levels in international and complex organizations
• Business proficiency in German and English
