Senior Accountant

About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Accountant (m/w/d) to join a dynamic and international finance team. In this hybrid role based in Duisburg, you’ll play a central part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance across the group. You'll also support audits, KPI reporting, and serve as the key interface with the Shared Service Centre.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and group-level analyses
• Support the development and reporting of key KPIs and performance metrics
• Coordinate and improve processes within financial accounting
• Handle asset accounting and manage fixed asset records
• Liaise closely with auditors, tax advisors, and internal departments
• Oversee and support external and internal audits, including SOX compliance
• Act as a process coordinator for the Shared Service Centre
• Ensure accuracy and accountability in internal control systems

Required Skills:

• Degree in business administration, preferably with a focus on finance/controlling, or commercial apprenticeship with advanced qualifications
• Several years of relevant professional experience in accounting or controlling
• Strong understanding of finance, accounting principles, and compliance standards
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
• Excellent analytical thinking and a structured, problem-solving approach
• Self-driven and dependable, with a high level of teamwork and communication skills
• Comfortable collaborating across all levels and departments
