We're seeking an experienced Desktop Support Technician to provide onsite IT support for our pharmaceutical client in Germany. You'll be the frontline technical expert, ensuring seamless operations in a regulated environment while collaborating with global teams.
Responsibilities:
- Provide L1/L2 technical support for hardware, software, and network issues (Windows 10/11, macOS, Office 365, VPN, etc.).
- Troubleshoot Active Directory issues (replication errors, authentication failures, GPO misconfigurations).
- Diagnose and repair Windows BSOD errors by analyzing stop codes, memory dumps, and driver conflicts.
- Manage roaming & local user profiles, resolving corruption issues and optimizing logon times.
- Monitor and troubleshoot high CPU/memory usage using tools like Task Manager, Performance Monitor, and Event Viewer.
- Resolve application failures (DLL conflicts, missing dependencies, permission issues).
- Support BitLocker encryption and recovery scenarios, including BIOS-related configurations.
- Configure and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs) in multi-domain environments.
- Document solutions in ServiceNow (SNOW) ticketing system and maintain IT asset records.
- Assist with network troubleshooting (IP vs. MAC addressing, DNS/DHCP issues, LAN/Wi-Fi connectivity).
- Collaborate with global IT teams to escalate complex issues when necessary.
Required Skills:
- Languages: Fluent in German (for local support) and English (for international communication).
- Experience: 2 years in desktop support, preferably in pharma or regulated industries.
Technical Expertise:
- Active Directory: User/group management, replication, authentication.
- Windows OS: BSOD debugging, profile management, GPO troubleshooting.
- Networking: DNS, DHCP, IP/MAC addressing, basic LAN/Wi-Fi support.
- Tools: ServiceNow (SNOW), BitLocker, remote support software.
Preferred Skills:
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA A , Microsoft MTA, ITIL)
- PowerShell scripting knowledge
