Region EHS Leader (m/f/d) who will be responsible for leading, and managing the Environmental, Health and Safety aspects in the
GSI business line for the
Central Europe region, with a focus on service, maintenance, construction, and commissioning project activities onsite. The mission of this person will be to build and develop an organization operating in accordance with global GE Vernova EHS standards, as well as with national and local EHS regulations, to make it compliant and safe. Our largest projects are currently located in Germany, the Netherlands, and Poland. Essential Responsibilities
- Integration and implementation of EHS programs in the CE region with respect to the global GE Vernova standards and ensuring they are compliant with the national and local regulations, across all activities, including customer site in other countries.
- Leading a team of 10 direct employees and team development.
- Monitoring compliance and supporting the implementation of legal and internal requirements.
- Supporting the site in implementing environmental protection measures and maintaining an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001/EMAS.
- Reporting to the Regional Operational Leader (Germany) and the Global EHS Business Line Leader (France).
- Leading and providing EHS support on the Business offerings (ITO) for the region in close collaboration with the Business ITO Leader.
- Developing a strong working relationship with operational and project teams (from service, construction, commissioning etc.) and helping drive the expected EHS performance and culture across all operations.
- Central contact at the site for EHS issues, including technical advice and collaboration with the site management team.
- Establishing EHS operating routines, including accident calls and EHS reviews, and ensuring accidents and compliance issues are documented and reported.
- Conducting training courses and site visits, as well as accompanying audits.
- Ensuring all internal and external EHS reporting is completed on time and with accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in safety engineering, environmental science, safety management or similar plus safety specialist training
- 10 years of EHS program development, implementation, and leadership experience, with a focus on business segments such as chemicals, electrical power, refining, Offshore or similar industrial sectors projects
- Experience and knowledge of independent standards organizations and certification programs such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.
- Experience in HVDC safety is a plus
- Proficient in English and German
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 40% of the time, especially to the project sites (national and international travels)
