Responsibilities
- You will compete in a design competition to develop an innovative measurement instrument from the ground up, including teardown analysis and creative prototyping.
- The winning team will be awarded a prize of X$$.
- Work collaboratively in a small team of 3-4 interns, fostering innovation, teamwork, and hands-on experience.
- Each team will have an allocated project budget and will compete against 3-4 other teams, providing a dynamic, challenging, and motivating environment.
- You will be assigned a Coach/Mentor who will guide you through:
- The product's target specifications and high-level functionality.
- Access to datasheets, technical documentation, and essential resources.
- Effective collaboration with Keysight personnel and departments.
- Your team's key deliverables include:
- Architecture Design, Block-Level Design, or Schematic Design.
- Early-stage functional prototypes.
- Internship Duration: Initially 3 months, with the possibility to extend up to 6-9 months.
- Accommodation provided: Keysight sponsors housing near the campus for the duration of your internship.
- This internship is onsite at the Keysight Campus, offering daily collaborative work in a dedicated, professional workspace.

Who We Are Seeking
We are seeking highly motivated Master's or PhD students to join a cutting-edge design project focused on core technology within an instrument. The project will start with a 3-month design phase as a pilot, with the potential to extend up to 6-9 months, transitioning from design to the physical build of the instrument or module.

- Master's student in Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and contribute to innovative design.

Key Skills
- Electronics and Circuit Design
- Understanding of analog and digital circuits.
- Knowledge of RF electronics.
- Familiarity with op-amps, filters, oscillators, and mixers.
- Signal Processing
- Solid understanding of Fourier Transform.
- Knowledge of waveform generation techniques.
- Concepts of modulation and demodulation.
- Experience with signal amplitude, phase, frequency analysis, bandwidth, resolution, and dynamic range.
- Block Diagram Design
- Ability to conceptualize and represent signal flow clearly (e.g., antenna to output display).
- Knowledge of key system blocks: RF Front-End (LNA, Mixer, LO), Intermediate Frequency (IF) section, Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADC), Digital Signal Processing (DSP) units, and Display/Interface modules.
- Schematic Design and PCB Layout
- Experience with schematic capture software.
- Knowledge of PCB layout considerations, especially for RF circuits.
- Familiarity with grounding, shielding techniques, and impedance matching.
- Embedded Systems and Microcontrollers
- Familiarity with FPGA, DSP, or microcontrollers for real-time processing.
- Programming experience in languages such as C/C or Python.
- Test and Measurement
- Experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers.
- Understanding of signal integrity, noise reduction techniques, and error handling.
- Simulation and Modeling
- Proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, LTspice, or Advanced Design System (ADS).
- Ability to simulate and analyze RF circuits and signal processing algorithms.
- System Integration and Debugging
- Capability to integrate hardware and software components.
- Debugging experience using logic analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators.
