We are looking for a motivated Junior Safety Engineer to join our team. The selected candidate will support the safety engineering efforts for our projects, ensuring compliance with CENELEC standards 50126 and 50129, focusing on safety, reliability, availability, and maintainability within the railway sector. Responsibilities
Assist in ensuring compliance with CENELEC standards 50126 and 50129 across all safety-related activities in the railway sector.
Work closely with a Senior Safety Engineer to gain hands-on experience in safety engineering and learn best practices for managing safety requirements.
Contribute to the preparation, analysis, and review of Safety Requirements Specifications (SRS), Safety Cases, Hazard Logs, and Safety Plans.
Assist in the identification and evaluation of safety risks, supporting the implementation of appropriate mitigation measures.
Participate in safety reviews, audits, and assessments to ensure that safety processes meet the required standards.
Support the generation of safety reports and documentation, ensuring compliance with both internal and external regulatory requirements.
Engage with different project teams and stakeholders to ensure safety requirements are consistently integrated across project phases.
Maintain a detailed log of safety-related activities and help track progress on safety actions.
Technical Skills, Qualifications and Professional Experience
Language Skills: Native German speaker with at least B2-level English proficiency (written and spoken).
Education: A degree in engineering, safety management, or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
Experience: No prior professional experience required; previous exposure to safety engineering or the railway sector is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
Proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow within the safety engineering field.
