Overview:
We are partnering with an innovative biotech company focused on transformative therapies for rare diseases. As the company prepares to launch its first commercial product, we are seeking a passionate and strategic Marketing Director to lead the German market entry.
This is a critical and high-impact role for a commercially astute marketer who thrives in launch settings and can shape strategy, build capabilities, and execute with precision. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of rare diseases, excellent cross-functional leadership skills, and a deep knowledge of the German pharmaceutical market.
Key Responsibilities:
Launch Leadership:
- Lead the development and execution of the launch strategy for Germany, ensuring alignment with global and European brand strategies.
- Localize global marketing materials and campaigns to meet the specific needs of German healthcare professionals, patients, and stakeholders.
- Develop and manage the German launch roadmap, including pre-launch readiness, go-to-market plans, and post-launch optimization.
Brand Strategy & Execution:
- Build and execute the local brand plan, including positioning, messaging, customer segmentation, and channel mix.
- Own development and deployment of promotional materials across digital and traditional channels.
- Manage relationships with creative agencies, digital vendors, and other marketing partners.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Sales to ensure aligned communication strategies.
- Support KOL engagement and advisory boards to gain insights that inform brand strategy.
- Develop and implement patient-centric marketing strategies, including disease awareness and education initiatives.
Market Insights & Performance Tracking:
- Gather actionable insights from customers, competitors, and the marketplace to shape ongoing strategy.
- Monitor brand performance and marketing KPIs to assess effectiveness and inform course correction as needed.
Team Building & Leadership:
- Act as a key commercial leader within the German affiliate, with potential to build and lead a small local marketing team as the business grows.
- Represent the German market perspective to regional and global teams.
Requirements:
- Proven track record in pharmaceutical/biotech marketing, with launch experience essential—ideally in rare disease or specialty care.
- Deep understanding of the German healthcare landscape, including regulatory, reimbursement, and customer environment.
- Strategic thinker with strong executional capabilities and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a high degree of autonomy.
- Excellent cross-functional and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
- Fluent in German and English.
